Hey i have a friend who has been helping me at gigs and has started to get more interested in VJing himself, he owns a Dell Inspiron 600m, 1.4mhz, intel centrino, 256mb...since im a mac user im not sure if this is a good enuff lappy for vjing or not?...it has an svideo out but we havent been able to find if card is dual or just mirroring...will he have to get a scanny,or is there a screen spanning hack for these cards? If it does handle dual screens how can i enable it?
Video Graphics: DDR ATI MOBILITY_RADEON 9000 AGP 4X video graphics at 32MB and 64mb. He will upgrade ram soon...will probably use resolume or arkaos... Thanks!

should be fine for resolume.
i have a similar spec in an acer (although more ram) and it works fine! i would recomend an external HD though as that'll slow resolume down more than anything else! |

Cool we managed to get extended desktop workin through the vga monitor out...problem is we cant get any signal from the svideo out, used a scanny to convert vga to svid but would like to omit it and just use the laptops included svideo out...the vga out seems to have been somehow blocked and we believe svid might also be, any one got any ideas how to unblock it?
Can i use both outs at the same time or could this be the problem? We d really appreciate any help, thanks! Peace! |

Does it show as TV/S-Video "not connected".
if so, connect something, then re open graphics properties/re-boot a few times. Some PCs have very good detection, others take a reboot and a few switches in the properties page. Other than that, I can't offer too much help. Alan |
