The aim of this thread is to state some obvious places to look for content before asking on the forums. it will cover copyright free or creative commons sources or state clearly where the situation may be otherwise.

most of this won't be new to some people. for those people this thread is to save them the effort of pointing newbies at the basics. (in that sense, this one's for you littlecat )

bbc video clip archive - unfortantly as far as i am aware its just for peeps in the uk - not 100% sure on that one though
