Midis????

Maybe you mean Midi??? Its a communication protocol originating from the audio work that allows hardware and software to communicate..... so in our case you could use a midi keyboard to trigger clips from a VJ app

Default Please clarify...

So is midi then hooked up with your djs equipment as well? I always thought midi was for audio triggering.

midi was originaly used to expand the musical possibilities of electric intruments in the electronic realm, for exemple to enable an electric guitar play more than just guitar sounds, via computers.

M.I.D.I. : Musical Instrument Digital Interface

midi is also used nowadays for interactivity,
VJs in particular use it to control effects and triggers on video samples.

but that's just a small part of midi.
FYI, I'm giving a midi workshops on a monthly basis,

Default MIDI motor control - squirrels playing guitar

Motor control is another interesting use for MIDI.

I've just significantly updated my website, and it includes documentation of a MIDI-motor-controlled sculpture. Go http://www.kriel.tv and follow the ARTS PRACTICE link, then click on the squirrel playing guitar.
