Default Connecting audio to pc, mixer (mx-50) or both?

What is the best way to connect your visuals to the music? Should I connect my mixer of my pc to the audio? Of both?

Are you talking about connecitng the Dj sound to your computer and manlipulate visuals based on that or producing animations with sound to the club speakers?

Yes exactly. What should I do with it?

Stuffy - you need to explain more.....

Are you trying to feed music to your PC to create visuals? if so, yes you can connect via the video mixer... this will also give you control over the sound levels coming in.

I use a seperate audio mixer now for more control including eq'ing the sound feed.

Sticks.

Well, I am wondering if I get in trouble if I connect both mixer and pc to the music. I don't need an audio mixer. I'm using Pilgrim or Visual Jockey (depends on the visuals I have prepared). I never connect audio direct to a mixer.
My problem is this: is it to much when I use fx from pc and mixer, which are "moving" on the music? Do I get a kind of "visual mess"?

Btw don't judge my English, I'm from The Netherlands

(you are not alone here not having perfect english skills - this is an international community so it is expected)

The ideal setup is a an audio feed from the DJ's mixer into another audio mixer/eq where you can reprocess the feed before it's sent to the computer.

A very good setup is a direct feed from the DJ's mixer into the computer.

The setup I use most of the time is a cheap microphone connected to my PC. For most of the sound-analysis processes done by vJo this is enough for most situations. You should try this first and see if you are satisfied. If you are, then you won't have to mind about audio cables - and you won't have to discuss with paranoiac DJs afraid that you would tape their performance.

Okay... I guess you made a point. I think no one likes it when people copy there work.
But what kind of mic should I use? Not an ordinary one for voice-recording, I suppose?
What excactly do you mean with "reprosessing audio"? Is it neccesary for better performance?

By the way, I'm sorry for my late reaction. My pc has been broken for a few weeks now and still isn't "very healthy"
