any recommendations on a free wmv converter?

need to get it to QT or AVI.

try video edit magic. save function for project will be disabled after 45 days but the convert function remains working.

Try the Rad Game Tools, they are free.

I think it can handle conversion between any installed Directshow codec + Quicktime.

I use it a lot for QT to AVI conversion, which VirtualDub can't do.

Whoops sorry about that. The Riverpast Video Cleaner does conversions to and from .WMV but it is not free.
