Default ATI/ Arkaos - HydraVision Suks!!

What the hell is HydraVision...well for one I can tell you its a crappy ass driver that came with my ATI 9800 Pro...or maybe thats just my opinion.

I have an arkaos demo and I've been fooling around trying to get the dual monitors working but nothing I do helps.

I've gotten as far as two different desktops on a single screen that I can switch between. And in Arkaos next to the mimimize tab there is a button to the left that brings up a hydravision window.

I know it has something to do with the driver. I want and should get rid of this hydra vision thing. Does anyone have arkaos and a ATI 9800 Pro? Where can I find the proper driver that will give dual monitors inside Arkaos?

Thanks

I've got an ATI all-in-wonder 9600 and yes hydravision sux big time. I had a hell of a time getting my dual monitor set up. In the end, I realized that hydravision is absolutely useless. I guess it is just for keeping different desktop setups for easy access (because we all switch between 2 and 6 mointors daily...lol)This is what I do to get it working:

1- plug in both monitor cables to both monitor heads on the graphics card

2- configure monitor settings in control panel. Monitor 2 will show up as inactive or disconnected but if you drag it around a little it will ask you if you want to activate. Say yes and configure it. Turn on "extend my desktop to this monitor". When you hit apply, it goes inactive again but don't worry

3.This is immportant: reboot with your second monitor OFF and the first one ON. When the system is done booting and inside windows, turn on the second monitor and walah!

I hope this is any help to you. I feel your pain. It just sucks when hardware doesn't work and there is no solution written anywhere about anything having to do with it.

I've also had thousands of troubles with my ati 9600, with premiere 6.5 and A.E. 5.5 probundle, all was flickering and unusable.
I tried all the new drivers of ati. Nothing works beeter.
BUT A BEAUTYFULL DAY i a found OMEGA DRIVERS, and now seems all works good.
I'm still testing. But i'm hopeful

GREAT OMEGA DRIVERS

I had a lot of problems with my ATI Radeon 9800 PRO (multimonitor didnt work). After two weeks (re-installing windows, flashing bios, installing drivers etc. etc.) I found out I somehow blew up the video out!!

Just got to the shop and asked a new one. Everything works perfectly now!
