Hi Graham
I Started VJing in Reading as Third Eye Lighting about 1990-1991. I picked up some CRT video Projectors at auction, bought a video mixer and two VHS recorders. Using a combination of the strobe control (to make the video appear to slow down) and cross fading I would make the video appear to be running to the beat of the band. At the time I don't think there any other people around the Reading area doing this sort work. I combined this work with standard lighting and roboscans. The nearest I saw to Video projection at the time was Fruit Salad lighting who would sequence groups of slide projectors to create animation effects. |

I used Bainbridge Bishop as a source in my university project some years ago:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_organ http://dataisnature.com/?p=443 I guess colour organs were technically AV, not silent VJing but still interesting! |
