Never heard of this. It looks like you can buy the full version from the site as always. I can't imagine they will stop selling it, though they are no longer building enhancements for it.

This is total bs - whoever told you you couldn't buy vJo anymore is completely off the track. Official visualJockey development has been stopped but many talented third-party programmers are extending vJo's features every week. The software is still being sold and supported - in fact I've never seen a dead software being so alive

Well...
Supported is a vague term. There is no more official development going to occur on the product. There is no promise to support versions that will be compatible with future hardware or OS versions. The reason they're stopping development is that the developers are done spending time on the program. vJO is cool, but I wouldn't advise anyone to spend money/time on software that's not going to have support. A lively user database is not going to get your money back when vJO doesn't work with the next release of Windows. Would you buy a Mac copy of Premiere right now?

Perhabs Vjo will grow that much that developers will start again?
Or they will give out the source in a couple of years, who knows. Looks to me that the developers also give out some internal information and sources right now to some talented programmers. (Because they know them, and trust them not to give them out to third persons... so please don`t spam them with: May I have some code )Perhabs this will grow bigger than we ever thought. Otherwise WIN XP should run at least 2 years on any new PC - and then we still can use this 2006 hardware to mix 3 full PAL streams and run 10 effects them. I`m not happy with developers stopping their good work, but I still have alot hope. And you are right in a way: I wouldn`t tell anybody: Invest 500 ? in Vjo right now. Thats sad, but true. ---------------- Vjo is dead - long live Vjo! |
