Have used these many times in the past, but a little rusty as to all the functions, using spook's luma modded unit @ a show tonight, will throw down a review tomorrow

Cheers mate, just home from the gig and the review will be up in a couple of days, probably will be a MoRpH & Spook co-review as its his unit. Also the unit reviewed will have the luma mod installed

MoRpH - I'll be keen to read what you think of the mod!

My old employer has an MX10 that I'm itching to do surgery on. I don't like the buttons tho - not very responsive (a right pain sometime!), and the sliders are a bit sticky. May just be a problem with that particular mixer tho.

I've never seen the external keyboard for it tho - what's on that? (And for that matter - can it be used with some other interface...??)

Not a bad little mixer tho - doesn't have chroma keying, but there is that luma key mod for it. I'm thinking of buying my old boss's one and use it downwind of a PC.

Are you looking at buying one? What price are they going for these days?

Cheers,
-y

MX10 and TZT review and tutorial post some time this week.

Yeah the buttons and sliders on the unit can be VERY fiddly

The external keyboard is a titler, pretty crap though

I would snap it up, they are useful to have in a rig or as a first mixer, I have a MX1 and have access to a modded MX10 when ever I want so buying one isn't on the cards for me, although a luma modded MX12 would be nice

Look @ paying around $500 australian for an MX10

Default mx 10

hi,

compared to a mx-12 there are atz least two main differences (maybe more):

- you have no T-bar and have to use sliders (with the problems mentioned above)

- you have no s-vhs support

if you live in the netherlands, check out ebay - you may get one for 200 EUR. an mx-12 will cost up to 400-500 EUR but is (to my opinion) much more usable in live playing and rock-solid hardware for long long use even in hazardous environments...

bye brain !

Default Luma mod + MX10 = better than mx12

So basically, with the luma mod for the MX10, the MX10 becomes superior to the MX12. Man, shoulda got the MX10 instead of the MX12 (half the price too). Oh well, you never can really win, there's always something bigger and better than what you got. So I guess you just have to maximize what you got and forget about what you don't have.
