anyone know a way to do this? it would be lovely if web video encoding apps like windows media encoder or QT pro had some sort of plugin that let you add a visible watermark.

Hmm I really don't know, I set up mine with cleaner6 when encoding it for anything I might need. If you encode from step 1 with the Cleaner, there will be no need for re-encoding.

you could have a clip the same legnth as the clip u wanna mark, with nothing but your logo in the size and place you want (full color full contrast), with everything else black, and then mix down w/a dissolve at something like 5-10%...

The whole point of a watermark is that it is encoded-in. Sorenson Pro provides a really good watermark system, but again you have to apply it at encode time....
If you just want a "bug" like a little floating animation down in the corner to brand your video (as opposed to protecting your video), QT will allow you to have a FLASH overlay which wouldn't require a re-encode of the video. |
