Hello there,
I was just wondering... Can two midi keyboards (oxygen 8's) be used at the same time with any vjing software? The idea is to increase the number of notes, thus increasing the number of clips/ videos used in real time performace. I think the problem is that there isn't any soft that can take two USB midi keyboards at the same time. Perhaps it can be done via software? OMS or Rewire? Ta for the help, jaqx |

might require some tweaking of the midi i/o mapping on the software
I believe it could easily be done. |

why not buy a bigger keyboard or just use the MIDI IN of the oxygen that is connected to your computer, that should work...

I don't get it
if you have 2 keyboards like the oxygen (which has 25) twice, you get 50 keys, using for example a edirol pcr80 you get61 keys. So i don't get your point really...

as far as i read the online info you should be able to do so. i haven't got one yet, but I was planning something similar, since I'm in an av act I wanted to send the midi through usb to one pc and through midi- out to the other.
and as far as I gather you can also use the midi in to connect two devices. I see the use when you have two people operating the set but not when you just want more keys...

the oxygene 8 don't has midi through or -in.
If you want to use multiple midi devices you have to put them together like a chain, from midi out to midi through and so on. the last devices midi out you connect to the comp, thats it. you should assign different midi-channels to the different devices. |

you could use a midi merge box to merge the two keyboards outputs (you won't be able to use the usb though)
why don't you try plugging both keyboards in on usb and seeing what happens? less questions here - more experimenting with the kit you have - you'll get to know more much quicker
