Default Looking for VJ program

I was working with the videomixer panasonic MX-50. I heard that you can do know everything in the computer.
I want to start to videomix on a computer and I want to project it realtime.
What is a good program to start , I have a mac.
I heard about the program GRID, is that OK and where can I find that.
I want to buy the ibookG4, 1 GHZ powerPC, 256 MB DDR266, 32 MB video memory. It has no dual monitor, is that a problem or is the machine perfect for realtime VJ.rubenbellinkx@planet.nl

it's really easy to use... but you can mix just avi, swf and quicktime format

the iBook is not perfect for VJing because of the missing second monitor possibility.
There is a patch for it, but I would buy (and I bought) a PB. For me, the 12" is enough.

Software:
MotionDive, Archaos, Isadora, Flowmotion, Grid, VDMXX...
try the demos to find the one which suits perfect for your work.

I forgot: put as much as possible RAM into it. You will need it.

I think the question was:

Is it possible to use a pc (or mac/laptop/Ibook/pbook) for the work wich is normally be done by a video mixer (this case MX-50)?

If this is not the question, than the answer is:
search the boards, and google-it.

dont waste your money on motion dive, it is a complete and utter TOY.
the biggest problem is that it can only play SMALL clips, and i mean very small file sizes. if someone was going to spend that much money on software why not get one of the good programs?
