Default Making a SaD video.......

Hello fellow optix,

lets say you want to make a video clip with ambientish music, which portrays a sad feeling to the one who watches it.

What would you show?

Examples of footage will be highly appreciated.

why don't you post some of your ideas to get the ball rolling?

What kind of sad do you mean anyway? Isolation/lonelyness is sad but so is the destruction of a beatiful forest. Both sad but in different ways.

Dan.

Exactly that, i meant, like isolation, solitude, loneliness and feelings like that.

I found some melancholic 3d clips, but my mind has sort of chanelled to one thing and can't seem to set my mind free to see other things.

As someone who very rarely uses figurative imagery, I'd do it with colour - blues, greys etc and a fair smattering of blurred edges, and then put some tiny glimmer of optimism in the mix somewhere!

If the forest was cut down to make homes for orphans and lost kittens, would it be sad then?

It would be if there were a patch of industrial wasteland that could have been regenerated and provided the space for those homes.

In fact, I think the destruction of something beautiful would be sad even if the ends were for the best.

If I owned a valuable antique that I really loved, I'd be willing to part with it if the money could do something worthwhile, but I'd still feel a little bit sad about it.

Anyway, we digress...

Dan.

my first attempt in non-linear editing was short video 'the inmost life" - starting from fairy colorful shots of not-yet-born babies [from Lars Nilssen documentaries] up to the birth and then shifting to National Geographic documentary about mummies including drops of the mummie-preparing process and found ancient remains

not talking about amateur quality of that work, for me it did produced deep enough feeling of loss and emptiness [very deep ambient soundtrack also did matter of course] - i just did it next morning after one of my beloved girls has lost her child

if needed i'll drop it online
