Default Edge blending multiple projectors: use hardwar or software?

Hi,

was wondering what's the best solution for edgeblending multiple projectors? Are there good hardware solutions and do they fit every projector? (The projectors don't have edge blending built in btw). Currently i found this: http://www.mviewtech.com/class_en.asp?catid=833 but would love to find something closer to home (aka europe) or at least in english.

Or is most blending done with software? Resolume Arena blending any good?

I'm talking about installations for corporate events. Any experiences? It doesn't have to be cheap.

thx!

what is the project you are working on I know you mention Coporate events but do you have any particular projects in mind? From what ive seen the edge blending feature looks good in Arena but i have not used it personally.

Do you use arena at the moment? You could always test it out, im sure its fully functional in when using the demo.

I just read this on the resolume page

Quote:
Soft Edge Arena
With soft edging you can seamlessly project 1 widescreen image with 2 or more projectors. It can even wrap around the composition for 360 degrees seamless projection.

It's for 2 setups @ a conference. One with 3 barco rlm-w12 and one setup with 3 sanyo's. For the setup with the sanyo's i could use arena indeed because it's an abstract background that needs to be played.

For the setup with the barco's i would love to have a device between the videomixer and the projectors if that works. Will be mixing live camerafeed from speakers + powerpointpresentations so need as little latency as possible.

Whilst the resolume edgeblend is the best of the vj apps, it's not quite up there with professional hardware solutions.

For corporate work I would suggest using a Christie / Vista Spyder (if you can afford it) or the (slightly) cheaper options from Barco (encore) or Analogway (DiventX) any of these options gives multiple PIPs over an edge blended pixelspace, with low latency and high reliability.

yeah renting is where it is at - Christie Spyder X20 costs about the same per day to rent as buying / building a Resolume Arena Server!

The 2 are not comparable really - the Spyder is a really great tool for shows which need the complexity of what it can achieve.
