No I haven't!
You said
"the market for VJs becomes less profitable"
and I'm saying the opposite, and this is with no need to supply any hardware or similar. If you are a good visual artist (I have nothing against the term vj by the way but just to clarify that there's no setting up or providing technical equipment) you can do just that, visual art. The fact that artists are now taking care of their visuals is proof that the industry is maturing and soon the general public will appreciate good visuals after having seen some which in turn will mean that promoters will have to pay the vj or get crap visuals in return for beer. For too long have the screens of clubs been graced with the equivalent of a train crash on the decks, this hasn't helped vjing and thankfully it's changing.

arrgh define VJ...

I was saying the market for the in-house Vj will become less profitable due to less slots for them being available due to the headliners having their own VJ or visuals.

Vjs who are able to create touring visuals or work with headling artists on content creation will of course get more work...

I think (fairly sure) that we actually agree about this! I know it's a rare thing but on this occasion i believe we are in agreement! (maybe you disagree... )

damn it i'm going back to my other computer to shout at flash a bit more, stupid program...

glad to see you two almost getting along.

That's a vj competition i'd love to see: Newbie vs Pro vs LJ w/ Hippo!

Let people decide when they want to vj free. I don't care if promoters post free VJ offers on this forum (even if they have a large budget) and I don't care if VJs go VJ free. It's to each VJ on his own to decide when he want's to VJ for free.

All this bullshit from people judging about others.

From what I read, I would really like to go to this festival with SteveG (but I live in Belgium ). It looks like a great opportunity for beginners to learn a lot (for me).
The BLOC thing doesn't look interesting TO ME because they just let you vj without a "pro" vj.

I'm sorry but Steve has done nothing wrong.

Bloc wanted services.
Steve wanted students.

There is a big difference and I'm dissappointed that its been hissed at.
Training people in the field IS an overhead and has an inherent value to the trainee (more often, they are a liability to the trainer / employer!). You PAY to go to university or do courses.

I didn't see the original post (my bad). But I don't think he was looking for free labor.
