looking to see what success people have had with adding a live input and applying effects, keying and fading that input. just an SD/DV input from a Canopus advc110 or something similar.. -no delay with feed keyed and effects applied?.. Just curious. Thanks

Well thats my specialty. I use live feeds effected heavily and it works out great. I have the canopus advc 110 and i use resolume 2.41 still. Done some huge shows.

There will always be a delay.

Canopus and DV codec are the most delay causes here. software is not that much the issue.
The best for that price range I know is Theimagingsource.com FW capture adapter that can capture uncompressed video with 1-2 frame delay. Or high end video capture cards for desktop if you can afford these. Last edited by vanakaru; 7th February 2011 at 06:20 PM. |

From what I've read the blackMagic range might be worth looking into.

I asked something similar in another thread. I'm not particularly interested in playing existing clips, what I want to do, and used to do on the Amiga, is process live incoming video which will then be projected behind the band. I need low-latency because both are being viewed at the same time.

Huh? Adobe After Effects is the definition of non-real-time.

For my experience, I would recomend to get macpro, and some blackmagic cards. I have 3 Intensity pro plugged in capturing them in modul8 with very very low latency at the final output, when the input is configured to use no compression. I have used effects on the 3 captures (CCTV) simultaneously and had great results.
