Default help buying VJ set up

hello,
i have a friend who is really interested in buying some VJ gear but has no clue about what is needed.

Please could you help with suggestions.

ideally the simplest set up possible, as he isn't very technical.
and ideally very flexable to allow mix of live video, dodgy animation, video clips and perhaps even live writing on something like one of those graphics tablets. if poss?

anyway,
appreciate any help

Cheers

Get your friend over here and asking questions and reading posts. Have him start with VJCentral and especially Where do I start/What software should I use? Then when he's ready use the SEARCH function on VJForums. There is a TON of info here from past conversations, all newbies and experts learning from each other.

Sorry, there are no simple answers, but the FAQ section on VJC will get you/him started. When you have an idea of which (of the many) routes you want to try, ask lots of questions.

GOOD LUCK!
