Default what out of these three projectors for me? Or another ?

Hi, I am just getting started with vjing, and I do have to use this in public soon, lol

So i have been surfing ebay trying to find projectors until i went to staples and found these three really cheap on sale, but not sure they would be good

---

Benq mp 515 - 800x600 2500 lumens 2600:1

DPL

This one i might take because it is the most money off and the most bright at 2500

---

Benq MP 512 2200 ansi, 2500:1 800x600

DPL

---

Benq MP 522 ,1000:1, 2000 ANSI 1024x768 -- I think this one is a short throw projector, if not then its the one right above, DPL.

---

So basicly I am wondering is DPL ok (about that rainbow effect) and is the 1024x768 much bettter than 800x600 - I am going to use this outside at outdoor festivals with some stage lights around, and who knows where else. I will use it with my macbook to mix video clips. I am a bit worried about this rainbow effect even though I haven't seen it myself so don't know what it is.

also is the the short throw better in general to work with at different (mostly outdoor rave type things but who knows) events ?

All these are same price basicly $350 - $400

What do you guys think ?

Hey, ive been asking the very same Questions last week without much responds. I guess the rainbow, dlp/lcd topics are around quite often, still i could not find good advise in this forum. This might just be because there are no 100% answers, some people cant even see the rainbow effect so all Questions on experience with model xy might be subjectiv and wont help at all.

Considering your budget i would say DLP is the only choice that makes sense, lcd in that range are low lumen/contrast models, if you dont have the chance to go to a showroom and have a look for yourself i would go for a model many people on this forum use.

I cant give you any opinion on brands, what i can tell you is: DONT BUY ON EBAY! - Bought a benq projector there, did not work well, tried to fix it and trashed it. Benq projector sometimes get issues with colorwheel, lighttube(mirrors). Thats what went wrong with mine. Thank you Deutsche Post. ;( Someone on a projector forum said these issues are common with benq, dont want to scare you off Id go for the best value in DLP.

---

oh
250 Canadian dollars = 198.439915

very good value but risky >
