Hello all. First post.
I'm working on getting Midi (sent from Ableton) to be converted into DMX and sent through my Open DMX USB. I've got the system working, however there's far too much latency. The culprit is the midi loopback devices I'm forced to use because I Send from ABleton -> Midi Loopback (loopbe or maple) -> Lighting Software (freestyler and others) and theres about 120 ms lag. Way too much... I need to cut out the midi loopbacks. The only ways I can see to do this is by having a VST directly in Ableton (DMXIS but too xpensive) or use Ableton Live MAx MSP (entec usb pro only ) 1) Does anyone have latency problems ? 2) Does anyone have any good suggestions to fix this? 3) Is the Open DMX USB crap? |

Can you cheat using the current setup by sending the MIDI signals early to account for the latency?
Also, you didn't mention what hardware you're running on. -spxl |

yes, you can have positive and negative track delay in ableton.

1) The hard ware that I was using was a BCF2000 controller -> Ableton (laptop) - > Midi loopback output (lighting signals) -> Midi loopback input(into freestyler) -> Open DMX USB by entec.
2) Using a negative delay to the midi has the effect of slowing down the audio by 120 ms which is equally unacceptable. I can't move a fader on my controller and have the audio change 120ms later. Any other solutions? |

The V stands for?
The enttec dongle is the fasted I know for its price, you not told what type of DMX devices you are controlling, nor how you tested that lag.
