Default FreeFrame 1.0 plugins in a FFGL host: introducing fugWrapperGL

Here's a little bonus one for you all...

I think it's a bit of a shame that you can't use all those hundreds of FreeFrame 1.0 plugins in Resolume Avenue (and others?) so I created a plugin that allows you to do just that!

It's called fugWrapperGL and you can download the latest release at:

http://trac6.assembla.com/bigfug/browser/releases

There are some issues with plugins that don't handle alpha properly but it seems to work, on the whole

Enjoy.

agreed, great work
most plugins work fine, but as you said, some cause trouble. i've found that these don't work:
BackLight
Chromium (quite disheartened about this one, it's a personal favorite - as a clue, i think it might have something to do with the separate parameter types for colors (param types 2,3,4), since the getparameterdisplay that is rendered in the gui reads "<Unknown Type>")
ColourReduce
Dodge
FishEye (same "<Unknown Type>" for x and y, so i guess they use the xpos and ypos param types (5,6))
HalfTone (<Unknown Type> for Angle param)
Kaleidascope (<Unknown Type> for Angle and Center params)
LionelBlur (<Unknown Type> for Angle param), and a couple of other Pete plugins

might try to take a look at why Pete's plugins don't seem to work as well as others. will keep you posted if i find anything

Let me just start by stating how glad i am (and 99.999% sure its not just me) that someone got on top of this

now some feedback:

0 tests performed on gforce8600, winXPsp3, resolume 3.1.3 demo

1st i've tested all ff's i had, including some of which are even demoFF's, about 150 total

2nd only about 40 of them work

3rd 90% of those 40 work partially, due to the fact that the option's sliders were turned into on\off buttons by the wrapper

4th of those that don't work at all, they either crash resolume (very rare) or cause some sort of "still image damage" effect (or generate complete black) with opacity option available

5th almost all can cause some issues when dealing with diferent codecs\file formats in the same composition

6th here's a list of all that work in one way or another

colour filter
invert rgb
iscFastBlur1 ??
Rect Field ??
SZ_DelayStrips ???
SZ_DelayStripsV ???
SZ_EffectsStrips ??
SZ_FlitStrips ???
SZ_FlitStripsV ???
SZ_Lomo ??
SZ_LomoV ??
SZ_MultiStrips ??
SZ_MultiStripsV ??
SZ_ScatterStrips ??
SZ_SideStrpsBth ??
SZ_SideStrpsBwV ??
SZ_SldngStrpsV ??
ScrollingStrips ??
SlidingStrips ??
Sz_DelayChannels ??
Sz_Polaroids ??
Sz_StillBoxes ??
Sz_TimeSplit ??
delay sinus ?
veejayBathroom ?
veejayCartoon ?
veejaychromium ?
veejayColorEnh ?
veejayColorShift ?
veejayContrast ?
veejayMorphology ?
veejayRevTV ?
veejaySmuck ?
vvCutStop ?
vvMaskStop ?
vvSmoothTrhs ?
vvStretch.01 ??
vvStretch.01 RGB ??
vvStretch.02 ??
vvStripe.03 ??
vvStripr.03 RGB ??

conclusion:

i noticed that the wrapper recompiles them very tight and neatly, maybe too much to the point, that as you can see rewrittes them all to about the same file size, so even not having programing skills myself, i can only make an educated guess that the wrapper is too strict and by the book when doing so...

dont get me wrong, as i stated, im really happy to see someone with programming skills try to resolve the problem, but my best uneducated guess is that the best approach would be a FFhost instead of a FFrecompiler

anyway dude keep up the good work and hope that this helps in some way what your doing
