My rebellious daughter Neon, after 5 or so years of teenaged mayhem, has finally settled down a little and found a degree of stability and success on the other side of the pond.

my daughter is three, fortunately by the time she is a rebellious teenager or twenty something diva I will be too senile to notice, but I hope she also enjoys some kind of commercial success so I can sponge off her in later life

funny you should say that. Her mother's side of the family are desperate to get their noses in the trough.
Given that she is only just starting out I find it abhorrent that she is already expected to be buying new cars for her mother, when she can't even afford one for herself. Neon (her real name of course) is heartbroken by the intense emotional blackmail by her mother, who of course hasn't done a days work in her life.
Success isn't all its cracked up to be.
