I've been using Livids Union, but as I am running Vista, there are some stability issues. I love the program's features, interface, etc. and am working to resolve the problems without resorting to switching to the XP OS.
Having said that, if I am unable to resolve these issues, what would you recommend as a fair substitute? I have played with the demo for Grand VJ and thus far, it just doesn't do it for me. I have looked another, whose name escapes me at the moment (Lumen-something?), but it didnt appear to be what I was looking for either. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

I think the collective choice for a PC would have to be Resolume..

I would recommend modul8 but it is for Mac OSX only.
Have you tried Resolume Avenue 3 yet? |

if it was me id stick with what i know and just switch to XP instead of vista as it will give you a better performing machine. the way i see it, it makes more sense to stick with the performance package you are happy with and get rid of the underlying issue ( vista's performance )
however, if you do decide to stick with vista, id give a vote for Avenue as well. |

Arkaos, capable of so much more, expandable into DMX, LED, AV, soft edge blending for wide screen more forgiving and reliable. Most people just dont like the interface....it's just not cool enough....lol If it was cheaper, dark and you needed glasses to read it, it would be more popular

I don't think you can really say which is the 'best' program. They all have their strengths and weaknesses.
I personally love and always use VJamm because it's simple, fast and stable. It provides a no nonsense approach, no features hidden under loads of menus, no highly intense features which might cause it to crash. Its just pure.

Been spending more time w/ Grand VJ and now that I've figred out some of the interface, I think it will serve my needs very well. Also, it seems extremely stable despite using the accursed Vista OS...
Thanks for all the input! I'm sure I'll be back with more questions as I progress! |

i think Arkaos Grand VJ works just great. and it is quite simple
you can easy access the media library, apply effects, text, i`ve tried it running with ten layers and never gets blocked. Far much better than the Arkaos 3.6 but i wish it had two think from that. The Random option and the record option |
