Default Resolume 3 Avenue Beta Feedback/Bugreports

Hi!
I thought it a good idea to start a VJF thread to collect user feedback and bug reports concerning Resolume 3 from users of this forum, and Bart gave a go-ahead.

my findings so far (everything at beta1100 on WinXP SP3, Nvidia Quadro FX770M)

A) Resolume crashes nearly every time when i shut it down, not depending on if external monitor is on, or there are clips playing, etc... it's pretty consistent. a log of two such tries is at: http://nopaste.ch/9bc67a8187396b7.html

B) Scaling: It would be really nice if the UI could be scaled in some manner. I am on a notebook with 1920*1200 at 15.4", which amounts to 147dpi. I got lots of free space on the UI, but text is very small, especially the help text in the lower right corner is unreadable! While full dpi-aware scaling (with user adjustments) is probably too much to ask, it would be nice if there were at least two or three zoom settings available (i.e. comparable to 96 and 120dpi setting in the OS). this would be easier if everything is pixel-based, as i think.

C) Mouse wheel: While changing parameters with the mouse wheel works nicely with most params (rotation, scale, etc.), when adjusting the beat length of a clip, it jumps from 8 to 200-something with one "notch" of the wheel. i think this is just an easily corrected oversight, i.e. by incrementing in steps of one or two beats...8-9-10 or 8-10-12

D) Wishlist: Pattern sequencer! This would be a dream to have, to trigger clips at different positions, i.e. like in flowmotion or modul8!

E) BeatLoopr available for video-only clips: I understand this is on the ToDo list, hooray!

edit: F) The record function does not work. pressing the button just results in an addtional empty column in the layer region, and a 0 byte big mov file...the log only complains about not being able to open said file.

all in all a nice software, although the workflow is different to R2, i'm still coming to terms with this. very promising

quick question re/ hardware

the OSX requirements say that a Quartz Extreme graphics card is necessary.
the MBP at the studio has a GeForce 8600M GT
and yet the information about the LCD display says
"Quartz Extreme: Supported."

is Quartz Extreme just a style, or protocol?

Mac OS X v10.2 introduced Quartz Extreme: graphics processor (GPU) acceleration for the Quartz Compositor. With Quartz Extreme, no central processor (CPU) cycles are utilized for scene composition. Quartz Compositor runs using the graphics processor (GPU) by encapsulating each rendered backing store in an OpenGL texture map or surface. The GPU then composes the surfaces and maps to provide the final image, which is delivered to its frame buffer.

Quartz Extreme only uses OpenGL commands, and requires a graphics card connected to an AGP 2X or faster bus (including AGP 4X, 8X, and PCI Express), supporting textures and maps of arbitrary size, since many of the renderers have no size limitation
I'd say if it says its supported, its probably supported
