I'd like to buy 500' - 1000'

and when I say flexible, I mean like braided core, not solid core. unless someone has made super durable solid core?

are you looking for a sdi cable? hd-sdi?
flexible rg6 has different specs when doing long distances than a solid core.

maybe you can find the distributor of belden or tasker?

I guess I'm looking for SDI, as I'm only sending 480 signal thru it.

What I want to do is make some long RCA cables. I've recently purchased a connection crimping tool, to fix the ends that I've had break off during gigs.

the Avcable.com place as nice stuff, but the wire I want isn't available in bulk, I'll keep searching...

I guess your not looking for SDI (serial digital) cable if your saying RCA.

well there both 22guage, I want to make a couple cables 250' long(each) and I think I would prefer them to have 18G centers, the stranded one you listed is more what I'm after, as these cables would be for temporary instillation, and would be rolled and re-rolled on a regular basis. But like I said I'm not confident that 22g will work for 250' runs?

maybe I should make a couple more 100' cables, and invest in another signal booster?

Or maybe I should just use solid core? it's cheap and plenty available?

what signal format are you running? composite? I regularly run composite down 100 meters or more of http://www.vdctrading.com/products.a...D=1&Page=3#p22 - super flexible and quite good enough for composite and even short runs of SDI if well made.

composite is a very robust format - it goes a long way if the cable ends are properly made and the equipment is properly terminated. If your running digital then you need proper SDI cable - i've not seen very flexible SDI cables - they are all stiff solid core cables.

even stiff cable will coil if your careful - best method is to figure 8 it into a case rather than trying to carry it while you under/over coil. don't use cable drums unless you have a lot of patience - they are a pain in the arse for thin cables (the only drums which i've ever enjoyed using are the automatic triax drums the BBC have in their OB trucks - but triax is thick enough to behave when going onto the drum and doesn't continually try to escape over the side into the axle!)

oh ya, that RG8u stuff looks like what I'm after. (It's just to run composite signal thru coming out of a V4)

and a dollar a foot is not that bad, I was hoping to find something cheaper, but beggers can't be choosers..
