Ne1co is about to release a lot of new content for AV performers
but first, just a quick poll to check your favorite video format, feedback much appreciated. (HD format not available for now) |

what aspect ratio are you clips?
from the choices in you poll it seems that they could be 4x3 or 16x9 - if they are 4x3 then you should offer them as square pixel 4x3 format (640x480 - or 768x576 or 1/4 screen versions 320x240 or 384x288) offering a choice between square pixel NTSC derived frame size and anamorphic PAL derived frame sizes seems confused to me. And i'm not sure why you've put 1024x576 as a choice as this is 16x9.. ??? Maybe you should work out what your doing with frame sizes and pixel aspect ratios before you start to sell your content? |

Still using 640X480 here. I think 4:3 is still most common. Maybe have it available in a few 4:3 formats.

I think you should charge more for 720x576. That is sized to be dropped in an editing comp.
640x480 is VJ-sized and should be priced sub-professionally (or possibly packaged in a collection for a discount). Seems there is interest in both sizes. |

where is your 720x576 content from? if it is animation derived then make sure that your actually creating in 4x3 projects otherwise when you drop the 720x576 clips into a DV project it will get stretched out sideways causing distortion in the image (circles become oval etc) It would be better to provide such content at square pixel sizes (768x576) as you don't run the risk of distortion, as any NLE will correctly interpret the square pixel footage when dropped into an anamorphic project.
Getting these things right is vital if you intend to sell content to professional users. Most VJs probably do not understand these issues. However they are really and important for people who are looking to produce high quality professional work. |

In the last few years VJ Loops has rarely sold 320x240. PAL is the popular format at the moment.
