Default crazy V4 idea!

Okay, so I want to have a live camera feed into my computer, I have a capture device that should work with Resolume, but I also want to run the live camera through a seperate channel on my V4, so what I was thinking of was running the camera into channel 3 of my V4, then taking the preview output of channel 3 into my laptop which is running resolume, then run the laptop into channel 2 on the V4. Does this make sense? basically I want to be able to manipulate the camera feed both on the laptop and the V4. Will this cause it to blow up?

it will work - to a degree. (you won't blow anything up at least!)

you'll find that your computer delays the video signal from the camera by several frames - this means that when you try and mix the computer effected camera feed and the V4 effected camera feed you'll get a double image (like ghosting on analogue TV).

sweet, mama like.

but i wasn't planning on mixing them together since the V4 allows for doubling your inputs anyway, but that could be cool. There are some things I like the V4 for, some things resolume is good for. I have a big halloween show Nov. 1 in Toronto and I've never tried running a live camera in resolume with all the clips, does it bog down a lot? that's my big worry.

It depends on a few factors - what resolution your clips are - what resolution your video in is set at 320x240 or 640x480. You should be fine - the only issue would be latency from the time the clip was captured to the output as sleepytom mentioned.

you can turn off the OSD in the menu - in the utilities menu there is a setting for preview type - it has 3 options one of which has no OSD.
