Can't remember the thread but i actually recommended this wireless MIC set-up to someone...

Well i hope you see this thread because its absolute crap for 1000.00

On the red carpet interviewing all these celebs and the receiver doesnt start up? wtf was fine the day before. new batterries blah blah

still used the MIC as a prop and just filmed sound normally but just sick to death off things failing when you pay good godam money.

end rant.

On an upnote.. every celeb wanted to approach us because off my trippy fig-rig stabiliser (which looks like a steering-wheel)

BUT I just hate failures especially on a cool gig you really look forward to. Just cannot accept it and can't believe it.

it's quite a low end system really - they are not designed for broadcast use, both in terms of sound quality and reliability.

if your doing mission critical jobs then hire in better kit. Radio mics should be booked in pairs on different frequencies (ideally get professional equipment which operates on licesned frequencies rather than prosumer kit which works on freeforall channels) that way you can quickly swap over to the backup set on a clear channel if your first unit dies.

No kit is 100% reliable. that is why professional live production / recording is expensive. You'll need to have redundancy for the majority of your kit if you need to ensure that nothing is missed. Always quote jobs starting at the price for full redundancy - if the client cannot afford the safety net then explain that they are no longer guaranteed 100% coverage.

Channel V (bloc reality show) was done by my mates at templar films... and interestingly enough i was invloved on both sides off the camera which is trippy i guess.
