Default Need to capture 4 streams over LAN

Here's the deal: 4 webcams attatched to 4 shuttle PCs which are networked to a "master" PC for live(ish) webstreaming of gigs. I'm new to this, so any advice would be much appreciated - I need a programme that will capture the 4 streams simultaneously over the network and allow basic live mixing (simple transitions, nothing fancy). I then need to be able to render the mix and upload it via FTP as quickly as possible...

1: is this possible?

2: what software should I look at?

thankingyou kindly

Arkaos can do 2 sources, other than that I do not know any other software but I am sure some one here know more than me.

I believe some one can create a simple application for you as well. You can ask directly to the people of resolume or arkaos or even livid union. They will charge for sure but you can work something out.

Arkaos can do four sources, but they need to be QuickTime sources.

Perhaps an IP security/surveillance camera software option may work for you, but I don't know how you would mix them.

I would say that a CCTV bit of software is going to be your most cost effective solution for this.

Do you need to take all four streams? or just one at a time with transitions between it? because it might be easier to mix externally than take the mixed single input via a capture card.

Check this out for streaming over lan:

Use Arkaos or VisualJockey Gold (I prefer Gold) to mix up the streams, use another PC with cheap Hauppauge WinTV capture card or a cheap DV Camcorder to record the ouput of VJ PC into Virtual Dub (where you can record to divx / MP4 directly).

I read on ArKaos forums it can handle as many sources as your hardware can. So you can have 4 or more inputs at the same time. On PC it need to be DirectX compatible, on Mac it needs to be QuickTime compatible.
