Default UltraWhorld: enhanced Whorld Freeframe plugin available

UltraWhorld is an enhanced version of the original Whorld Freeframe plugin (WhorldFF). The main enhancement is that UltraWhorld exposes nearly all of the Whorld application's parameters and switches. This allows you to run Whorld from within your favorite VJ application, without sacrificing the Whorld application's extensive real-time controls; in short, the best of both Whorlds.

UltraWhorld has an unusually large number of Freeframe parameters. Unfortunately some VJ softwares limit the number of parameters a Freeframe plugin can expose. UltraWhorld is most useful with VJ softwares that don't limit Freeframe parameters, e.g. FFRend.

UltraWhorld 1.0 is still in beta but it's looking like a release candidate, so please let me know if you find any problems. Enjoy!

Hey victimofleisure, I'm a big fan of whorld (it was my first approach to vj apps) but now I am a mac user, do you have any plans of making whorld a mac app??

Default Works in Visual Jockey!

Nice - I loved Whorld, especially when chained with other plugs. UltraWhorld is a great upgrade. It works fine in Visual Jockey, all 49 variables are there to play with. Great work!

i second that, and whats more the isadora developer has put up an xcode template for compiling freeframes.

this takes away a lot of the pain.

The main problem with this idea is that Whorld's drawing code depends heavily on the Windows GDI. Not only the app, but the FF plugins also use the GDI. If the GDI has been ported to OSX then it's possible but it's still a big job, and one for which I'm not well prepared since I have neither a Mac nor any of the necessary software tools. I could certainly assist someone else however. Is there a Mac guru in the house?

I'm glad to hear UltraWhorld is proving useful.

Meanwhile I'm beta-testing a new version of FFRend that features a job queue, modeled closely after VirtualDub's "Job Control". Not sure if anyone but me will find this useful, but it seemed like a good idea since rendering times can be quite long at 640 x 480.

I'm off to Burning Man in a few days and won't be back until the second week of September, assuming I survive the event.
