Copying a post of myself from arkaos forums / nuvj, regarding some good improvements that should be implemented in a future update of NuVJ Arkaos,

I ask all the NuVJ users, that say some more things to add for that we can help out the guys at Arkaos with some ideas!

-

- Add STOP / PLAY / PAUSE Function

- Add Frames Selection in the Loops ( Start Point - End Point )

- Add TOP LAYER of everything to allow spin of club/band/etc Logo or/and Permanent Text Messages

- Add more effects / sound react effects (and improve the sound react delay )

- Possibility of adding multiple files at once

- Possibility of Recording the live performance

- Make the LCD more usefull

btw, isn't there any possibility of when we loading other banks, instead of the screen going black we can set a default loop?

they "not seeking" feedback, this is an self-step into a quick upgrade to the software... just to help out the guys at arkaos

btw,
regarding the "sound react effects", is it possible to add a function that a JPG/BMP will react to the beat like an speaker? (up-down)

Definitely yes to all above
From my side the most important would be abandoning the idea of hardware as a dongle, it is low end plasticware and possility of malfunction is high. I am not even complaining here, it is fair deal for the money.
Protecting 1000$ software with a dongle is different story but 50-100$ is impractical if not silly.Specially when it is 100x size and weight of a USB dongle
There so no midi mapping info till now, no option in case of controller malfunction. Even if it would happen once in few years or months - it is absolutely unacceptable for serious use.
NuVj pack is very attractive, if not smashing offer, complete solution for the approx price of competitive softwares.
Where the fear comes from, who a hell would bother about cracking NuVj while there are freely available torrents with Arkaos full versions and of all the competitors.
The idea of punishing paying customer for potential sins of othersis not economically sane. Steinberg lost me as customer because of it and I am not the only one.
VJ software users are mostly well aware of the fact that being tiny niche market we all have to support each other. There are no Adobe, Steinberg; Apples monsters. Most if not of these little VJ software "companies" are few talented fellows who to just get rich could easily do something else. Supporting cracks use would be suicidal for VJ world.
So my little tip, get real.

in some way u'r right... if the hardware gets f**ked up, we "cant" perform :\
so, we'll always gotta have an second option in hand in case of that.. but, i hope that's not needed

I think they can easily do some upgrades turning this interestin/promising combo into very good one. There should be more input from users like you, it is obvious that your ideas come from using NuVj. I am one of those waiting for final release before plunging into using NuVj for performance. Still only test it at home, dont trust it yet when I am paid.
Might biggest grip is the master FX selection knob, it should be like the bank selector-stepped- I dont understand the idea of selecting FX in unpredictable way, it is practically hit and miss, absolutely random ? What sense does it make? I am afraid this cannot be corrected, maybe in version 2 of the hardware.

ur right rayrit about the master fx, but an way to avoid "sending unwanted fx" to screens, is turning master fx value 00 and then pickup the effect :P

im using it for live performs, im doing well.. only 1 crash till now (had to reboot computer).. thanks edirol for saving the gig! :P

All the initial users have been sending in their thoughts to Numark. I know these have been forwarded to the developers in the USA. From what I'm led to believe the 1st upgrade may come before xmas this year. They realise the main features from Arkaos must be incorporated to see more serious interest in the product...mainly Cue points, Acceptance of Freeframe effects etc....all have been covered I'm sure. I'm also sure the company read and appreciate the comments from all users on forums like this one

Is the nuvj worth buying then?
I already have arkaos 3.6 but with no external hardware it seemed like a good buy
