Default What hardware for Resolume.....

Hey everyone...

Ive recently started gettin into VJin, and Im using Resolume. Obviously this is much easier to use with a Midi Controller of some sort... but which one...!

Ive done a bit of research by looking through previous threads on here, now, I need some help to decide! I want to get one asap and have about ?200 to spend... but could save up for another month or 2 and get something better.

React Midi Controller - is it worth saving up to get this? (but Ive read about a few 'ongoing' problems with this)

VMX VJ - now this does look nice, and I'll obviously have to save up a bit more, and wait till they come back in stock. But this does look like a nice piece of kit. Ive seen the pics on these forums.

Behringer BCR2000 - around ?100, so I could get one right away.... do many of you have this? Is it worth getting, or is there a better one now??

M-Audio Trigger Finger - again, I could get this right away use it along side the BCR2000... I think? (Im using Resolume on PC)

And finally, Mixman DM2 - Ive heard (or seen!) this mentioned a few times.... what are your opinions?

Ive already got a Hercules ShuttlePro from when I was do a bit of Video editing.... can this be used as a scracth wheel etc within esolume?? I think its the first model, not the ShuttlePro2. (but not 100%)

Any response is greatfully received.

Cheers.........

UPDATE - or if there is anything else than the lot I mentioned... let me know! Cheers!

I prefer the BCR2000 than any of the mentioned controllers. More knobs, more funcions, and with the BCR2000 you can have lots of pages and multiply your virtual knobs.
The VMXVJ looks nice, the triger finger is more for ableton/audio control, for resolume it will be the same than pressing keyboard keys.

I use a oxygen8 and a cheap 8 knobs midi controller and i will sell both to fet a BCR2000

with the oxygen8 you have controller knobs and keys so you can have a few controllers and keys for whatever your needs.

http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Oxygen8-main.html

its one of those things that you just have to mess around with.

ive been looking at the BCR2000 and its looking very appealing also.

have fun playing

I have one of these,FADERFOX does everything my huge/heavy BCF2000 did and more.

The Good:
Joystick
Small
Light
Battery Operated
Excellent build quality.

The Bad
The Pots are kind of clicky and send out random values when moved fast.
The buttons are all hard wired toggle radio buttons, so you can't assign bpm tap to them because you get two values i.e. 500bpm...

All is forgiven for the joystick, it rocks.

I just dont wanna buy a controller, then wish Id have got a different one!

Cheers for the input so far guys.....

i bought an axiom 49 last week to discover now that is not completly reconfigurable regarding the buttons except for the triggers... at least i havent found a way of doing it... i'm thinking of shpping it back and gather a few more money for the vmx vj that you mentioned.

Cheers guys.

So... Ive think Ive narrowed it down after a couple of hours reading through previous posts on VJF....

I think Im gonna get a BCR2000, they seem very good value for around ?100.

But Im now stuck between the Mixman DM2 and the Trigger Finger as a second controller. What do you guys think? Which would you go for to use with the BCR2000 (and resolume).

(but deep down I still want to save upfor the VMX VJ!! LOL!)

hey peeps
right, this might sound stupid to some of you but...
i'm thinking of giving a go at using hardware with resolume myself, but just cant quite figure out what the possibilities are.
what would you use the bcr2000 knobs for. change effects? can you load clips with it too? can you play on the blending mode between layers (timeswitcher for example)?
cheers for your enlightening!
