Your style reminds of the work coming out of the Weiden & Kennedy labs in Tokyo, they are a great agency, check some of their other moves such as the DJ uppercut vs Ninja animation, its probably my fave piece of commercial animation.
Your 'In motion' was my fave http://www.momo1030.com/draw_in_motion.mov Keep things simple...no need to make peoples eyes bleed

great idea: using UV inks in a club environment is genius to keep lighting levels down.
well executed, combines really well with the architectural photo shots. really good straight forward site too. dav |

thanx for the link: W&K tokyo side rocks. just like this digital painted vector style. keeps it more organic and warm.
..was quite happy to find the uv ink. really had serious light problems the first gigs :-) ...to be honest, the tricky thing is to combine the two sources, so that it looks smooth and "nice". keep experimenting... |

Here is a small section of the uppercut video http://xplsv.tv/movie.php?id=132
The full composition is about 10 minutes long.

sped-up drawings/re-draws on a blackboard... what an elegant concept! could probably even do an entire half-hour series with that. |

how much does that uppercut clip totally rock.
for a live version.. things where the ribbons sort of encircle the ninja from behind would possibly be pre-made... then the vj could have various 'moves' for the two characters, with maybe a 3rd layer for the backgrounds; at least two V4's would be nice if trying to re-create this piece live just using elements. vj software mixing/overlaying would play a part of course. AVmixer and Pilgrim are two softwares i know that give the option of realtime 3D-skew, so you can get that cool perspective shift that goes on. |
