Default Mini camera tracking system

Hi I am looking to buy/build a miniature tracking system that I can use for smooth close ups and macro work. I am looking for something that has fine control and used horizontally and vertically. I have searched the web but can't find anything; I was wondering if anyone knew of a system like this.
Cheers
Steve

"mini camera" and "smooth close ups and macro work" doesn't match that well, most mini cams have bad picture quality because of cheap ccds and composit encoders

ladder tracks are probably the best option - you can diy if you like but they are fairly cheap to buy ready made.
these dollys have the advantage that standard ladders can be used as tracks which makes it possible to hire long ones cheaply - its also possible to setup some quite extreme shots by using angled ladders and scaffolding.

Not to mention that it's THE definitive solution for 'falling from a ladder' filming.

Cheers for the links I have seen all of these systems but they are not what i am after. I have done some more research and the kind of thing I want is really basic motion control. I have a friend who is a robitic engineer who may be able to help me build something.
Thanks for all the links.

why not go with a PTZ camera (Pelco being the world leader in security camera systems)
