message page b4 posting

Hi all,

in reaction to so much akward discussion on the forum,
I'd like to suggest setting up a "posting ground rule" page
that will apear before the posting page?

on this page one would see a list of "good behavior" topics,
that people have a duty to respect.
soem of which would be:

1. please do not cross post
2. please stay on topic, otherwise, start a new thread
3. if your post is going to be emotional,
please count to 10 before writing anything.
4. search the VJ forum database, your question may already be answered
5. more?

and a button to go to the posting page saying "I agree"

would that be possible / does it sound right / does anybody have time to do this?

hmm maybe we could incorperate something into the top of the posting page - having an intermediate page is more complex and would be annoying for people who regually post to have to click twice for every posting.

I have seen a page that appears with a how to, use search, etc for the first 5 posts. Thus chancing newbie.

The vBulletin hack was not too big for it but I think it will be easier when we upgrade the forums before making to many changes.

erm, we have a Terms of Service already, and there's a link for it.

frankly this would be like putting up 'No Murdering' signs around the country in case anybody forgets. It would just piss off the informed, competent, sane users and be no protection at all from the nutters.
