Projector mounts to atach to truss or scaffold pole

Hi does any one know where I can pick up some ceiling mounts for an Epson EMP52 projector so I can atach to trussing scaffolding or ceiling? I'm in the UK

in the past when stuck we've just scavenged a piece of MDF cut out the right shape, drilled the holes in the right places, and bought a lighting beam clamp [g clamp] from the local d.j/lighting shop and used that. it'll be a tiny fraction of the cost of the proper ceiling mount kit. but don't forget to spray it with fire retardant spray

If anyone is using the Panasonic PTLC55U or PTLC75U
LCD projectors, I have devised a "do it yourself"
ceiling mount bracket that uses a standard "C" clamp
and parts available from most any hardware store.
It'll cost you about $10-15 USD to build, plus the
"C" clamp. It's really simple, and I'm sure many
of you could come up with similar plans yourself,
but if anyone's interested, I am happy to share.

An "official" Panasonic ceiling mount costs around
$220 USD, and it has to be screwed to the ceiling.
It's more for permanent installs, rather than for
mobile VJ use. This one I built is working quite
nicely for us so far.

Hopefully this ASCII diagram works.
If not, e-mail for for better plans, or
figure it out on your own, as it's easy.

Use paper and pencil to make
A template for the holes.
The board is 7"x11"
Two 1/2" I.D. washers on both
sides of the clamp for strength.

I imagine you could build something
similar for may different brands of
projectors. Hope it helps some of you !

I needed a cradle for a couple of shows this past weekend, ended up making one. I used aluminium sheeting, folded it and used rivets to hold it together. I then used some bolts at the back and front to stop the projector coming out; the rear bolt has a wing nut for quick release. Both bolts have a aluminium tube around them to help with rigidity and stop them scraping on the projector. Finally I used an old ?G? clamp on the top, added a steel wire for safety and some foam inserts. Took me about 4 hours and cost less than ?10, I pretty much had everything I needed. Thinking about adding another part to the clamp so it can be angled up and down as well as left and right.

we had these made by a nice bloke down the corridor from our office - very well made and quite cheap i think

We made our cradle from metal mostly bought from B&Q for about 30 pounds. Only bit that we couldn't get from there was the hook clamp which was 5 pounds from Stage Electrics.

Here are some pics, should be able to see how we made it from the pics but if anyone wants instructions or design notes I'll try and post a simple and easy to follow guide to making your own! Ours was made for a BenQ MP610 projector. It was tested at a 500 capacity venue on friday night and worked a treat! Didn't fall on one persons head.....not one!

nice... but all of these make no mention of a secondary attachment, i.e. a safety bond/chain. you need to thread one through the projector (and cradle) and around the truss/scaff pole, in case the cradle/mount fails. it's very, very unlikely, but it's a legal requirement, and you'll be fucked if it falls and injures someone.

hmm, i'd probably go for a half decent universal mounting bracket or the manufacturer's one and a manfrotto superclamp. only holds 15Kg, but that'll be enough for all but the biggest beamers, and with those you'll be able to get a more professional solution. I'd definitely want a safety with the superclamp, mind you.

Keep in mind that in some cases you will need an extention(if there isn't any lighting truss's available) to get it low enuf to clear ductwork/ect. if you are hanging one from the ceiling.
