That is really nice work. I love both of them but I am really wondering how they managed to get that effect in the "robmilk" clip - the other one's technique is easier to understand.

I imagine they would have a fluid dynamic flow map for the background and have the simple shapes that make up the 'people',etc over the top. That is how would do it.

Reasonably easy really. Getting it just right probably took most of the time.

Thanks for the information Rova. Dynamic flow maps : just to be sure I understand that is what is used in Geiss and Smoke for example ?

Flow(fields) Maps are used in many visualizations like Geiss, G-Force, Milkdrop, etc where it remembers the snapshot from the last frame and applies formula so that it appears on the next frame.

The formula for the flow map is complex probably will resembles fluid dynamics formula much like something like Smoke (although that is calculated in a slightly different way for speed).

All 'objects' (like the people in the video) placed on top of the flow map will drift away to that formula so in this case the fluid dynamics formula.

The 'objects' will be animated like the simple shape of person morphing into the different shapes and this will be placed onto the map and thus you will get the desired effect.

All done without 3d maths.

Hope that makes sense.
