OMG
I have a massiveeeeee problem (i think) i had a bit of knowledge about computers but this prob is beyond me... My comptuer keeps on 'tripping' out in the middle of rendering my video files so I thought it might be a heat problem... or a memory problem, I asked some nice guys in a computer shop and they said ohh bring it in we will have a look, and then charge me, which is a big problem. I need to sort it out myself... does any one know any good sites or books that i can find to read up on things...? Any thing would be great thanks p.s my spec is AMD Atholon 3000+ 512 memory 120gig (partitioned hard drive) 30gig hard drive ohh yeah and and the 'memory cache' (i think that what they said) is on a bigger drive than windows??? if that makes any sense

Likely a heat issue. Download a free program called 'Speedfan', it monitors Temperatures.
Also, try taking the cover off the case and blow a large fan into the innards. See if you can render like that (I had do that with a box I just put together from miscellaneous scraps). Obviously not a permanent solution though. |

I had a similar problem with my moms computer. After taking off the case and powering it up I realized the fan on the CPU was clogged with dust and tobacco grit. She was a big smoker. So check the fan on the CPU.
Good Luck |
