Default ArKaos hardware acceleration

ArKaos released a hardware accelerated version. The quality is much better now but a few old effects are not available now. CPU effect only works when a visual is on the same key, I suppose for technical reasons.

But it supports FreeFrame now

Cool! I will be waiting for the mac version and hope that the upgrade will not cost more $. Arkaos is way too sluggish for me at the moment to use, so I use Modul8. If Akaos HW speeds up, perhaps a machine running Arkaos can be used alongside a machine using M8.

I have tried it, and i think it runs faster but a lot of effects don?t work in my old fashion pc. I?m using a toshiba satelite (P3 1G 250ram)
Do you know any softwear that supports midi and usb camera and will work better on my computer?

I suppose you have not the hardware acceleration as it requires recent graphic card
# NVidia: 5200 SE/XT and above
# ATI: 9550 SE and above
# XGI: V5 and above

The soft works with old 2d engine if you don't have such graphic card, like on my Compaq laptop. But I have FreeFrame support with this version.

the current freeframe spec utilizes only CPU, not your graphic card, so they should work fine

Check out openTZT.... usb cam will work fine even on your modest hardware. Midi can be more tricky but with a little testing and emailing you should be able to get it working

Or try using the CPU version of ArKaos, ArKaos VJ 3.0.3. This version doesn't use hardware acceleration.
