Default BNC-VGA (Mac-Barco)

Does anyone have any ideas why my Barco projector (1208s) won't work with a VGA-RGBS BNC cable connecting it to the back of my G4???
The manual with the projector says that you should use an interface, but the description of the Barco one makes it look like it only changes pins & has basic gain circuits etc. - i.e. doesn't have any effect on frequencies etc...
Is using the 9-pin DIN RGB input more likely to work?
Thanks....

if the projector has only one sync input, you'll need to combine the syncs, how to do this is here:

this is a bit of an electronics project.......

also i think mac's use vga in a different way to pc's, or possibly its not vga at all, this could also be a problem, try this??:
