Good job. The saturation and brightness on LED's is very punchy and many are 6 bits: 128 levels. If I were producing a fashion show, I'd find the display too distracting from the fashions...

"If I were producing a fashion show, I'd find the display too distracting from the fashions..."
that's the common misconception, i noticed that people look at the screen when the model comes out then follow her on the ramp, the whole thing was conceived using textures from each designer's fabrics and a brief from each one of them, giving the collections a unique and focused look. |

I think it looks nice! Good concept using the textiles and designs as subject. Fashion shows are all waiting and waiting and waiting and then 3-and-a-half minutes of clothes.... It's easy to lose the idea of how much time and designwork went into it over the last 3 months....
Visualove, maybe you don't know that fashion runways are oriented side-to-side, not frontend like a stage. Most people are sitting along the narrow walk. Only the cameras are at the far end looking back at the screen. The video would show more in publicity shots than to the buyers at the show. |

My bad 6 bits=64 levels!
We do have fashion shows in Oregon too, I have many sweet designer friends. Actually right now Portland has the flavor of Brooklyn in the creative world. IMO the visuals should be above or flanking the runway entry area in a fashion show. Often we have one model standing at ready where the LED screen is in the photos while the other is walking and often in multi designer shows, the group of models for that designer will stand there together at the end of that designer's segment. |

I was going to do this fashion show one time for a designer friend and he was really into it and then he came up with this "idea" that the projections should be on the ceiling. I told him how impractical it was, but once he'd had it in his head he thought it was the most genius thing and I couldn't turn him off it.

There is a lot of interest for visuals at fashion shows here, i did three of them this jear only. Good work there spaceman, the screen can be too distracting but content and timing is what matters. The walkouts are so short that there shuld be no distraction then, but then you have all the time before and after the show to realy work it.
The best one i did so far was for a friend who silkscreen prints over her clothes. We had no budget but the result was amazing, we had dancers do the show so it was more coreography than walks. I filmed the dancers in her chlothes and worked on them in AF than the same people did the show. |

Portland indy fashion kidz done good
Portland fashion portal Actually from what I hear there is more flannel in Brooklyn now than Portland or Seattle! Are they still wearing those trucker hats in NYC? - sooo 2000 trustafarian! The visuals are there with the music to raise and maintain the emotional tone of the audience in the deadtimes, establish a culturally up to date atmosphere and feed ADD. |
