looks like a budget solution for simple vga/dvi switching but could it potentially be abused for triplehead switching? it takes 1080i and wuxga so in theory it could cope with 1920x480 but theres no mention of custom resolutions. and theres no RS232 for external control.
TVOne 1T-PCDVI cross converter

If it has no RS232 you won't be able to upload custom resolutions. So I don't think you can use it for triplehead

well, I went through the manual already, the question was more like "has someone experience with this unit and knows how it behaves when fed with unusual resolutions within the range of supported resolutions.
of course the manual did not mention triplehead resolutions simply because they doenst existed when this device was brought to the market initially. with some switchers you can use non standard input resolutions like 800x500 or 1280x480 even if its not explicitely stated in the manual. other units just dont pick up the signal at all because of the way the internal processing is done. since there were some reports that the ITC750 needs to be manually set to accept 1920x480 i suspect that this unit wont eat triplehead resolutions by default. I was looking for an cheapo vga switcher and this device came across. I am most probably gonna buy it for renting it out but of course if it could be used with the triplehead that would be a nice too. another thought would be to ditch the triplehead at all, create a composition that is cropped to 1920x480 but set the output to 1920x1080 on both computers , then going straight into this unit and distribute the output signal to three scancoverters and zoom into the left, center and right part of the image. sort of a crude hack, but if the image degradation is not worse than attaching the scancoverters to each head of the triplehead, its worth a try.

The zooming in with scan converters technique is not a crude trick. It's how I used to do multi screen for years before the th2go popularised multiscreen and put it within reach of the hardware morons.
Zooming has some advantages as you can better control alignment. You need decent scan converters though!

well, its not the most elegant solution
I have 8 coriogen scancoverters which I once bought for a 360 degree installation. they have luma key and RS232 and pretty versatile zoom pan crop options, which made aligning the 360 degree a tad bit easier.
