I'm working on a project that needs an extremely fast response from my projector, but no matter what I do, it seems faster on my screen than it does coming out of the projector. Looking in to it, I found there was such a thing as input lag, something I wasn't aware of when I started out.
I have a BenQ MW814ST projector, which is in most ways ideal for what I'm doing, the throw distance is a crucial factor. I'm connecting to it from a MacbookPro with mini display port, I've tried HDMI and VGA, but the lag is still noticeable, I've tried turning off any functions on the projector that might affect it to no avail. I've tweaked and tweaked my software, and as I say, there's a noticeable difference between screen performance and projector performance, so I'm pretty sure it's not my software. As the project expands, I'm looking to get another projector, and a new macbook pro with thunderbolt, finishing with a system with dual output via a matrox triplehead. Will thunderbolt bring any performance improvements? Will the triplehead degrade response? Are there any projectors similar to my benq that may be more responsive? And what's the best way to connect to get best performance? |

try setting your output to match your projector input. that way it wont have to rescan content as it comes in
