yeah i thought it was very soft but i didnt really know why. something to work on improving. i spent ages making sure all my comps and renders were quite sharp and nice so there was def something going on with the projector. but to be honest i was more put off by the huge holes/ symbols cut out of the panels . it broke the animations id spent ages doing.

if it looked like a dvd then maybe thats because it was the first time id used resolume ever and i didnt really have the experience to VJ . i just layered everything up into nice composites and let the animations run in their loops.

Thatangrykid -

when did i say i knew everything?!!
my swiss friend you mention has his name all over the videos i posted of his work?
bit depth and the lighting guys arent really an issue for me here. i just didnt want to copy other people and do the whole traditional glowing edges thing so i made some CGI.
as id never vj'ed before or done anything like this i wanted a trial run and to test out a copy of resolume, so i thought getting an educational copy was the best way to test it out first, before deciding if i wanted to commit.

i emailed Joris at resolume about this and he was fine with it, and in the end i enjoyed using it so much i plan to upgrade to a full license , and try to do some paid work in future.

i didnt really feel like i wanted to charge any money for this as it was my first time, because it wouldve added pressure to everything and ive never done it before, and the performance date was the same as the final week of delivery in my real job , which has to come first, so i wasnt even sure if i was going to be able to make it. add to all that i am doing this as a favour for a close friend, im perfectly happy to do it as a favour anyway. id rather they took what they wouldve paid me and spent it on a better projector .

everyone has an opinion AngryKid and i welcome your healthy advice and criticism. i joined this forum to learn and share ideas so id be a fool not to listen to others, i just think youve been a bit prejudgemental there without knowing all the factoids

Default Pyromid

Hi James,

Well done. I've only seen a bit of the footage from Glade, but it looked like you did an amazing job.

Me and my company (Mad Ferret Productions) conceptualised, designed and physically built the Pyromid for this years Glade.

Firstly, sorry that there were changes to the design. Although I wasn't aware there were changes that close to the time. (I was working on a different build at the time though, so didn't get to even see my concept!). I know that I didn't even come up with the concept until February at the earliest, and we didn't know we had the gig until April at the earliest.

Completely understand your point on money, we we're out of pocket by the end of it! Not to even mention the insane amount of time we put in.

Would have been good to have worked closer with you on the mapping side of things, as I do a little myself.

Anyway, well done again. It'd be good to catch up with you and maybe plan and work on a new build together. Hopefully my partner Jack met you and got your details if not, would be grateful if you PM me them.

Looking forward to seeing Total Recall.
