anyone tried the Panasonic PT-VX505NU?
or any of the new wireless panasonics? I was thinking about getting a second PLC-XU106 and see this guy replaced it, and the wireless is just to tempting. Also wondering peoples thoughts on matching a slightly different projector to a previous one? He plc-xu10g is 4,500 lumens vs this 5,000. Hoping to put them next to each other and edge blend for one big guy. |

I have tested Panasonic PT-VX400NTE and the wireless functions. The wireless is great for presentations, and for watching low quality youtube video. When I played a 720p quality video it isn't fluid. Easy Wireless Projection from Multiple PCs is also great, I have tested it with four computers. For matching the PLC-XU106 and PT-VX505, it can be done, you will need to lower the ANSI lumens output of VX505. I hope that your LCD prism in the XU106 is o.k. and that you have as new lamp as possible. |

is it possible to lower the output in the projector settings or would it have to be done by eye from the vj software?
and the max resolution of the vx400nt is only 1024x768 so it makes sense 720p wouldn't look so great |

The only way to do it on the projector is to put projector into ECO mode. It is described in the user manual on page 60 at Lamp Power section.
The quality of 720p projected image on the PT-VX400NTE was as espected from XGA projector. The problem was with the speed of the wireless connection. As I said, it's good only for movie-less presentations. |

From reading manuals I see eco mode reduces lamp to 70% brightness, which would only be 3500 lumens. So i guess the only way to match a 4500 and a 5000 is by eye through the software.
Tekel did you test the wireless in multiple locations so it's certainly not the quality of signal or the amount of other traffic on it? |

forget wireless for gigs.
TBH i would try and get another XU106 if you can find one (they are out of production since sanyo were taken over by panasonic) The 106 is a really great projector - I have 5 of them, and haven't used a better small format projector really (OK my old nec mt1065s were better, but they were nowhere near as bright, and cost a small fortune). If your going to try and blend then you better have matched machines to start with or you will go insane trying to get it seamless. Blending such small machines is not generally worth it. I would seriously consider upgrading to a 6000/7000 widescreen projector if your intent on doing big wide screens. Much easier to setup and brighter to boot.
