Hello,
I'm currently working on a project for school that combines a kinect with 3d projection mapping. We're just getting started and are still looking for good information for our list of sources. There is a lot information around on the internet, but mostly scattered on forums (as far as I've seen) and some video's, but most of them are pretty basic. You guys seem pretty familiar with these things and I was hoping you could help me out and point me in the right way for some good in-depth information. I'm not a novice in this area, but neither an expert or close to an expert. So the very basics like what projection mapping is, is not what I'm looking for, but some in-depth info on these topics and the things that are related to them. We still need more sources on the specific things listed below, but anything related to how it works and how we can make this ourselves is welcome ![]() - combining the kinect with quartz composer - 3D mapping, how it works and how to make this in a 3D program I've also searched for books about 3D projection mapping and using the Kinect with Quartz composer, but without result. Do you know of some books related to these topics or do they just not exist? Thanks in advance and if things work out properly I'll try to post some results here ![]() Thanks! Some friends of mine actually just made a projekt where they used kinect and processing for a mapping project, https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater
what i heard from it was that the princible worked but there where still some problems since it was out of sync. I did a simplyfied setup where i just used a realtime animation program and the kinect, that worked fine(in a very controlled setting) but because of the program used it quikly became boring and not much more then a gimmick. There isent any books on the subject, since they would proberly be obsolete before they where ever published ![]() My bedst advice for you is to find someone who is very skilled at using quarts, vvvv or proccesing and get them involved. ohh year and look into recoil performance group, im not sure if its kinect, but they work with a lot of stuff related to this good luck |
