Exclamation a bit of help

hi there all at vjc. im extremely new to this sight and to vjing. i know i should be in the newbies forum but no one is there this morning.
Im promoting a club night and kicked off the launch night with an experienced vj friend. it went down really well. now the night is regular and i dont have the funds to keep getting outside help, i'd like to set up on my own.
I have a new imac 800mhx/1gig superdrive with my current music midi setup. On the night we had a pc with resolume and a projector mixing images on a midi controller.
Would it be faily easy to set up something similar on my mac? apart from the software do i need any hardware? some sort of converter? any help would be very much appreciated.

First check this link for some software suggestions that are Mac specific.
Where do I start, What software do I need?

Your iMac can't be set-up for dual monitor (only video mirroring) so the first accessory you might need will be a scanconverter.

Except for the Superdrive an iMac is similar to an iBook so you might want to search the forums for "iBook" and see if similar questions have been answered in the past.

This thread should to be in the Newbie Forum for the benefit of all other newbies. People who like to answer newbie questions will also look there for those who need help.
