Default getting two video feeds on one screen

Hi Everyone,

I read the rules for posting and will try to limit my question to one main questions. I'm a graduate student trying to figure out how to get a computer feed and video feed on the same screen. So my main questions is, how can I get two video feeds on the same screen using a videonics mx1 mixer. It would be ideal to have two separate screens. So far I've only been able to figure out picture in picture (see video link below for a sample). I worry that a kid's head might be cut off if I use picture in picture be cut off.

Some background for those who want more detail:

I'd be willing to invest some of my own money to get a good setup, so far I've just gotten parts by looking around my department and borrowing bits and pieces. A high def mixer is out of the question though... my budget is about 300 to 500.

I need to have the video camera record two students (5th graders) working on a computer, I need to capture their upper body (face, hands, torso). The second video feed will be an output from the computer, i decided to use a mixer and direct output of the video feed to eliminate the lag I'd experience using some kind of screen capture software. The video below was made so I could show my advisor that there will be no lag between the users movement and the on-screen video.

I have a copy of the original manual, I'm getting video from my computer using a vga to s-video converter, getting video and audio from camera using s-video and headphone jack to rca jack. I've decided I don't need audio from the computer, just video. Then the mixer will output to some kind of recording device that accepts s-video (not sure what I'll be using yet).

Here's a video of what I've accomplished so far.

why don't you just put the video from the camera on one screen and the video out of the computer on another screen and put the screens next to each other.
If you really need to go through the mx1. I think there is a wipe that will allow you to have both feeds next to each other
but they will be distorted or very small.

thank you for the suggestion, but I need the output video feed to have the screens side by side. Eventually I will record this feed to share with another researcher who can't be there for the study.
