Hello,
Don't know if this fits into this category but since I will need 3rd party hardware I guess it's fine. We are planning a projection mapping on moving surfaces - dimension of venue is 15m x 30m, 2D shapes will be moving from left to right and back on the wire attached to stage construction. Nothing fancy. I found a couple of topics about kinect but not like this, I have no idea how to work with kinect or where to start. I'm using Resolume Avenue for VJing. Has anyone done something similar? Thanks for help! |

Put encoders on your moving surfaces, or on the motors/pulleys that move them, listen to the signal and interpret it in your software to make your content follow the movement.
It's easier said than done, but it works. |

I would do this with Isadora. Tracking and video all together.
On mac you can use Junxion for camera tracking and turn this data to MIDI and then manipulate video in Resolume with that. Or you can use WiiMotes attached to the moving shapes and interpret OSC in Resolume(probably) or on turn OSC to MIDI with Junxion or OSCulator.
