I have skipped Lion all together. Never missed it. I run OS X 10.6.8 still and have a feeling that the same will apply to Mountain Lion as well.
As much I have heard/read it makes internet use safer, but does not add anything regards video work. Just the contrary with all the extensive sandboxing it gets even harder to use some apps. What do you think? |

Long story short: Not yet. With 10.7 Apple started to develop a new, modern framework to replace the good old Quicktime, but as far I know nobody uses the new one actually. In 10.8 this framework is extended, but it is still not a real replacement of the old Quicktime API and the new API is 10.8 only.

Any improvements with QuartzComposer?
My understanding is the same about Quicktime. I have disabled the QTX to prevent it from popping open instead of 7. |

Note so much. Some bugs fixed, others came. Plus Core Image seems to be slower on 10.8 with some graphics cards, but its not QC related, and I think they will fix it faster than the QC issues.
