Default External Camera: Go Pro

Has anyone used one for VJing? They have a wifibacpac accessory that can live stream a video feed. I'm wondering if anyone has used that too and if its effective before I buy it.

You can not stream anything as yet and maybe never will. It is just a promise and a teaser for now. If the advertised app will come out it will work with mobile devices first. I am not sure it will stream direct to system but maybe it will. The other question is if the stream is anything worth of using live and that is even more doubtful. But nobody have seen the app so nobody knows. There are similar cameras coming out from Sony and few others that have full WiFi support. But again I have not seen the camera yet so nobody knows.

BTW it is really good camera. I am personally waiting for firmware upgrade that enables the camera to record ”RAW” with Technicolor standards.

I've streamed with a gopro. Just use it as a live camera and capture with a capture device into you computer. Ustream (f.e.) detects it as a videoinput.

Well this is what you call ”streaming”. It is very old news already done with previous GoPro model Hero. You can plug HD2 via analog AV out to the computer with capture device without any trix.
But we are talking about WiFi here.
Here is an article about the app that will be released(maybe) in Fall 2012 - meaning from 22. September to 22. December. But these promises have been brocken in May, June, July, August. So do not hold your breath.

BTW I see no point using it for live capture. There are better cameras for that.
